Notice to Bidders and Newspaper Advertisement

The State University of New York at Oneonta will receive sealed bids for project number 091029-01
titled Oneonta Site Improvements & Safety Upgrades Phase 2 – Softball Field until 2 p.m. local time on June 30, 2021, at SUNY Oneonta, Facilities Office, 322 West St., Oneonta, New York 13820, where such proposals will be publicly opened and read aloud. All proposals are to be mailed to SUNY Oneonta, Office of Facilities, John Villanti, 108 Ravine Parkway, Oneonta, New York 13820, or hand delivered to the Office of Facilities, 322 West Street, Oneonta, NY 13820.

A brief description of the scope of work for this project includes, but is not limited to: The removal of the existing softball infield and outfield materials, one foul pole, a portion of the softball field fencing, temporarily moving the first base dugout for grading purposes, and a couple of old backstop systems; and installation of concrete curb and synthetic turf nailer system, a new infilled synthetic turf surface, a new drainage system to handle runoff from the softball field, a new French Drain to address runoff from the adjacent slope to the north, hdpe corrugated trapezoidal shaped swale system, sub-drainage system and dynamic stone base for the future synthetic turf field, install one new foul pole, re-setting the first base dugout, underground fiber communications conduits, new electrical conduit and services to the existing Press Box, galvanized chain link fencing for portions of the outfield and new bullpen areas, new wall padding for the inside of the chain link fence backstop, concrete pitching mounds for the playing field and bullpens, and new dugout guard rail systems. Bid Alternate #1 includes providing a portable pitching mound and a set of turf style bases for the campus to use during the little league summer camp program.

All work on this Contract is to start after September 7, 2021.

A pre-bid conference and project walk though will be held at SUNY Oneonta’s Softball Field at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, June 16, 2021.

Bids must be submitted in duplicate in accordance with the instructions contained in the Information for Bidders. Security will be required for each bid in an amount not less than five (5) percent of the Total Bid.

It is the policy of the State of New York and the State University of New York to encourage minority and service-disabled veteran owned business enterprise participation in this project by contractors, subcontractors and suppliers, and all bidders are expected to cooperate in implementing this policy. The University hereby establishes an overall goal of 30% for MWBE participation, 8% for Minority-Owned business Enterprises (MBE) participation, 22% for Women-Owned Business Enterprises (WBE) participation and an overall goal of 6% for Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Business enterprises (SDVOB) participation.
