Notice to Bidders and Newspaper Advertisement

The State University of New York at Albany (Uptown Campus) will receive sealed bids for project number P-1626 titled – LSRB Chiller Replacement until 2:30pm local time on Tuesday, February 10, 2026 at University at Albany, Service Building “A”, 1400 Washington Ave., Albany, NY 12222 Room 103, where such proposals will be publicly opened and read aloud.

Work of this contract includes, but is not limited to, the replacement of the air-cooled chillers with the necessary electrical upgrades and BMS controls. It also includes repairs to the LSRB emergency generator underground fuel tank and monitoring controls.

All work on this Contract is to be completed within 365 calendar days after the date of the “Notice to Proceed”.

A pre-bid walkthrough to review the scope of work and site conditions will be held on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, at 9:00am. Interested parties to meet at Service Building A, Rm 103 where the engineer will review the project drawings and specifications prior to the site visit at the academic podium.

Bids must be submitted in duplicate in accordance with the instructions contained in the Information for Bidders. Security will be required for each bid in an amount not less than five (5) percent of the Total Bid.

All work shall be in accordance with construction drawings and specifications. Contractors must be able to secure a performance bond for the full amount of their bid and should be prepared to anticipate a value of $ 2,000,000 for this project. Please note that this project is a Single Prime Contract exempt from the Wicks Law.

Pursuant to State Finance Law §139-j and §139-k, this solicitation includes and imposes certain restrictions on communications between the University and potential bidders during the procurement process.
